Yoga and Mindfulness for Children in Schools.
Its not just adults that will benefit from Yoga, children of all ages can benefit too. In fact, in many parts of the world Yoga is carried out from infancy, learning these "life tools" early, to help gain control over stress from early on.
Research has also shown that children who take part in a regular yoga and mindfulness practice, feel more centered and calm, and therefore are more focused when in the classroom.
Joyce has been working with children for many years, coming from a childcare background. She incorporates activities, adventures, games- all yoga related in some way. Joyce encourages the sessions to be an open place for the children to feel open and comfortable to express themselves.
Joyce is trained in “Kidding Around Yoga tm.” Kidding Around Yoga is a style of Yoga that was created by Haris Lender, ERYT 500, and has also completed trainings with The Children's Yoga Tree, south London.
KAY encompasses the 5 branches of yoga in a clear engaging method. A typical KAY class gets the children, singing, dancing, skipping, marching, jogging, laughing, hopping, limbo-ing, and storytelling ALL while practicing Yoga to music. Its LOTS of fun, kids LOVE it!
